Yesterday night, I watched the movie "Don't look up" after a few days of binge-watching "sex and the city". The entire charade was fuelled with my first bath ever, an old obsession & a new habit, hopefully.
I can't talk about the movie "don't look up" because you need to watch it, it's beautifully funny, makes you think, and is character dense.
"Sex and the city" is a whole other world, it fanned the flames of my life exploration into the world of Kama-Sutra(teachings of desire). Crashing on the couch in a flat of 4 young women friends gives a new perspective of "who I am" and "how I am in denial", every day. Take it from me, sleeping at friends' couches is always inspiring.
Those were just a few life-changing ideologies in the last three weeks. The description of the year, 2021, is when we writers use the words "I don't have any words" and then write a bunch of words.
The night is darkest before the dawn, stay strong.
The commercial end of the world is turning 3. Jack Dorsey focussed his vision on building Bitcoin as the currency for the planet. (Art Changed). The European startups recorded exponential funding growth.
No matter which end of the business world you live in, there's a fear of missing out on something! Web 3.0, investing, passive income or creator economy! It always starts off with a strong passion and a desire to hustle. The creator economy is the world being built infront of this generation.
As the end of 2021 approached, I refocussed my learnings towards tech, business and strategy from brand and marketing. It aligned with the future goal of learning about the tech and startup ecosystem in the creator economy.
Here are the most recent pieces written on Scrappy which would lead to a wholesome understanding of future pieces. I started the entrance to the tech-business world by studying open data and its applications in maps. I further explored the world of APIs and API first economy impacting businesses today. Another interesting piece was a deep dive into the evolution of the marketplace.
These 3 essays linked above laid down the foundation for the understanding of technology businesses for me, I would advise reading up on them if you’re starting out reading about the business of technology.
Current Challenge
I would like to open up the major challenge I have been facing with Scrappy to my audience to solve because clearly, I haven’t been able to.
In order to build an audience(investors, operators and entrepreneurs) for Scrappy, I need to share and create value where the audience is present. To my understanding, it has been twitter. It has been hard to create a balance between Twitter and a weekly essay. If I write an essay a week, I don’t really understand what the content on Twitter could be which could create enough value.
The goal for 2022 is to counter the above problem. I am more than open to your views and you can reach me via email.
Future Plans
The future is ever-changing but I have been thinking a lot about the guiding principles of Scrappy. The European startup world is growing exponentially. The support from governments, rising tech incubators, overflowing VC investments and numerous problems to solve presents an opportunity for Scrappy.
An opportunity to study, learn and experiment with thoughts on growing technology businesses in the EU.
The second phase of the plan would be to enable startups. The means of enablement would largely depend on the state of mind and resources at the onset of the stage then.
Happiness Projects
A way to pursue happiness in the real world without going to exile was how “happiness projects” started. It has become a much bigger part of my life. Although I have only published one from this segment due to the usual struggle of consistency and procrastination, stay tuned, there are many more to come.
It ranges from understanding judgement and improving it practically, kindness and the treasure it holds, no bull-shit gratitude practice and as we discussed in the beginning: the teachings of pleasure and its importance in our lives.
Time is Everything.
I wish you the best of 2021 and a splendid 2022.
Take Care
See you in the next one!
